I will be pulling my boat down to SC the 17th of April.  I understand that if I leave the boat in SC for the rest of the year I am required to get the 10 year import permit.  Is this accurate?  Where do I get the permit?  Also,  are there slips available at Marina San Carlos or Marina Real?  I have a 32' center console named the "HAWK" that is 10 feet wide.  We are really looking forward to fishing there for the remainder of the year.

Thanks for any advice you can give!!!

Yes you need the permit.  You can get one at the 21km chckpoint where vehicle pemits are issued south of Nogales.  Get your tourist card first and then ask for the office to get the boat permit.
You should find slips available in both marinas
Thanx

Bart- I always agree with you but in this case you are dead wrong, I have Checked ,and double Checked this issue.what you say was true, however as of the no more car permits, its also no more boat permits..I re-confirmed this with Hedi at Marina San Carlos her Mother who is head of the Marina's assoc. in Mexico checked this issue also, in the past you could tie your boat to a six month car permit and that or a ten year permit was all that was required for use at a Marina (plus Insurance), now that there are no more 6 month car permits there are no more six month boat permits, both Marina's now require only proof of ownership, a title or regisration and Mexican liability insurance....A ten year permit is a waste of time and Money   hope this helps  Steve   -ps. I have 2 new boats in sc in the past 3 months with no permits, that's why I did all the checking..and double Checking , both are in the water in slips with no problem
