It appears that Cyberco has one of the only connections with power and internet and posted this on Viva:
7am - It rained most of the night here. Water is running off well. No flooding for now. Most phone lines are gone.Ours is on and off. Grant and Kyler are out on an exploratory mission and should return with alot of photos and some factual answers. So far we have not heard of any injuries but I am sure we will.I would recommend that homeowners wait and not try to return to San Carlos yet. We have no power and no idea when that might change. The road into town remains closed. At the moment we are most concerned about drinking water. We are very short handed here and cannot communicate with any employees off site.
It is the only post so far from the area.

| I heard from my dad (Bart) this morning. It was still raining this morning. The blvd is washed out in two different places. Even if you get to SC the road is completely blocked before you get to the Marina. Waterfall has formed on the road right there. 300 yards wide he said. Still no power. I had plans to head down today, but have cancelled them. He and my mother are doing ok. Obviously there are others that are not that fortunate. Thoughts and prayers to those who live in the area.

My mother has a horse ranch that borders an arroyo out by the airport in San Carlos. Her name is Diane and I haven't heard from her since early yesterday. She and my sister Alexis were stuck out there due to the rising river and I'm really concerned about them. Does anyone have any idea how/where they are? Any updates would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully one of those sticks belongs to you. I too am wanting to know how our boat is. It is on the back side near the pond. I would guess it is no longer just a pond.
Good luck!

| When things settle down a bit, how can we find out about individual boats in Marina Seca - specifically one s/v Faith, a Morgan 41?

| TREVOR, THIS IS FRANK ROSS, I spoke to Sue Francis today, your mother is fine, there was a lot of damage to the ranch, but she is ok, She and Joe went to the Marina and Joe's boat had a little damage, but not much, no word on Alexis, but I think I would have heard if there was a problem

Hi Trevor,
I just talked to Bud. If you haven't spoken to them, he saw Lexi and your Mom today. They are okay and the house is standing. Email me for more info. miranda.smith@telus.net. Bud's phone was working when I called this time and he said the power had just come on.
Take Care, Miranda

Going to be a day or two before we know the situation at Seca. I've attached a shot taken this afternoon of what used to be the two-lane blacktop entrance road. Not a pretty sight.

Wow. Those photos are startling.
Thanks to everyone for sharing their photos and knowledge.
We're very relieved to hear that our boat's okay (it's in Marina San Carlos); we'd been kicking ourselves for not hauling it out and taking it to Marina Seca but now are of course very glad we didn't.
We really hope no one was seriously injured or worse. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone there.

All week I've been worried sick about SC and everyone in it. This sounds like the worst hit in decades, if not in SC's half-century history. I don't recall the highway from Hmso EVER being shut down.
Take care. I just wanted to stop by and say you're all in my thoughts.

Yep that is the place... Looks horrific. If anyone drives by there today could you please check on Pepe? It has a navy blue cover and is in the furthest stall on the west (or headed out of town side) You can see it if you look down the alleyway and through the gate.
I hope everyone is ok down there....We are all thinking about you in the states.

Heather, I hope your boat is okay. I noticed another thread said that most of the boats in Marina Seca are okay, so hopefully yours is as well.
Friends of ours who have a boat at Marina San Carlos drove down to SC from Tucson last night; sounds like a nightmare to get there. Here's what they had this to say:
We are down in San Carlos and what a journey it was to get here. There is no electricity here in town so everything is shut down. Also none here at the marina. Thank goodness we have a propane stove, canned food, and cold beer and margaritas in the frig. We left Tucson at 7:30 am and didn't step on the boat until 6:00 pm. From right outside Hermosillo all the way to San Carlos the Federalis were stopping traffic. We would go a few miles, then stop for at least a half an hour up to an hour. This happed 4 times. The last ten miles into the cutoff for San Carlos, there were several places where the road was completely washed out. Thank goodness both sides (north and south bound) were never washed out in the same area. It took us 5-1/2 hours to go 72 miles. Then when we got into San Carlos part of the main thorough-fare had washed out and was nothing but a huge mound of dirt. We had to wind through the neighborhood roads and most of them are dirt roads. They were in very bad shape and there were several places we barely got through. We have a Toyota Tundra so it's a big pickup; I was wishing it was 4 wheel drive.
