Spent Friday and Saturday on the water on other peoples boats. I think the Pez Caro is taking the summer off. Found lots of peanut Dorado and Skipjack on the inside of the reef, about 8-10 miles offshore on Friday on the True Love. We had one Vela knockdown off the NE corner of San Pedro. With that much bait, tiny Dorado and Skipjack there has to be bills mixed in. Doc Marlin confirmed that theory when they hooked up another huge Black Marlin on Sunday. The Marlin was in and around the giant school of Spinner Dolphin that always seem to be 10 to 15 out on a 180. The Marlin unfortunately pulled the hook on them. Great job again Doc Marlin!
On Saturday we went to Tortuga on a rocket boat named Reel Steal. Right around 1:00 we found schools of Sailfish less than 1 mile off the NE point of the island. We lost a nice Marlin and a Sailfish after the hook up, released another Sailfish and missed 10 . They fought through lures and went straight for bait. We had lots of action on big teasers. If I were going back today, I would take all 30# gear and drop bait back to teasers D&D style. If a guy wanted to practice circle hooking go now (wish we were circle hook rigged, our percentage would have gone straight up). We had 18 strikes in 4 hours. We also put 2 very nice Dorado in the box for dinner. Thanks Danny Grajeda Jr.!
Pilo arrived after a while and that magnificent Yellowfin was hooked up on a double in no time. We were the only two boats out there and were never more than 500-yds apart. We had to turn tail back to SC at 4:00 and that Corona boat was still going strong.
The fishing is heating up for the September tournaments! Get out there and practice!!!

BET YESTERDAY WE NO STAY TO LONG AND THE SAME PLACE AND RELESES 3 BET MY BOSS WANT DORADOS AND RUN MORE SOUTH AND WE CACH 5 (1 DOR PLUS 40 LBS) AND HOOK BIG MARLIN FOR 35 MIN BET BROKED 50 TEST AND BACK LASH .
