A locally produced documentary exposing the fish mafia of Guaymas will air on a program called Expresiones de los Cabos with Armando Figaredo at 5:30 pm on channel 628.

It will be shown in three segments starting tomorrow and finishing on Thursday. If you don't have sky perhaps you can go to Marina Cantina or Froggies and ask them to put it on for you there.

Thanks for your support.

For those of us outside the broadcast area, any feedback or other reaction to the show?

Although Exrpresiones de Los Cabos has good coverage due to time considerations for Armandos news show he has broken it up into 4 parts. Yesterday was the second day. We are meeting with Mega Cable today to get a deal to put it on locally here in Guaymas. If they accept our terms it will be shown and then we will be live in the studio to accept calls from the public. We want to dispel many of the myths that have been cultivated by the fish mafiosos who have been lying to the public for years about the issue.

I can tell you that the reaction in Baja Sur was overwhelming. I am told that Calderon is going to be shown the documentary by the head of Canacintra and the Mexcian bill fish foundation is trying to work a deal so it is shown in the movie theaters down in San Jose and Cabo San Lucas.

I am quite sure Conapesca is putting more effort into inspection and enforcement since I last interviewed the head of Sagarpa in Hermosillo. He was astounded when I showed him the footage. He had no idea how bad it was in Guaymas.

Now for the bad news. In southern Sonora and Northern Sinaloa they are fishing dorado like business as usual. I am pretty sure that some of the big dorado operators out of Guaymas are fishing dorado just like last year. They are paying their bribes and moving the fish. I don't know if NOAA will act to close the border, via Lacey Act, because they are still waiting on a letter from Conapesca formally requesting help in the matter. I don't think the letter will ever come.

If I receive some funding I may continue in the issue as a lobbyist and continue to work with NOAA to shut down the border but not sure if that will happen. After we show the Documentary here in Guaymas and Sonora that will be about it for me. I have to get back to work and pay my bills.
