Can anyone recommend a good place to park a fifth wheel, preferably on the beach but not in a remote spot.  We'd like to camp on the beach but also be close to night life, shopping etc.

Thanks!

responding since no one else has.....hope others will correct me if i'm wrong.

i'm not sure you'll find that combination in/around SC......don't think there is any beach camping that will be within walking distance of the other stuff you mention.  there may be some trailer/RV parks in town.  not sure on those.

there is good beach camping north of the town a ways (not far, <4-5 miles by dirt roads, maybe 2-3 as crow flies, but slow going) but it's completely unimproved and some of the dirt roads out there may be fun with a 5th wheel as they can be narrow and at least 1 stream crossing would be exciting.  sign at end of paved road indicates that you need a permit from policia to camp....i've never been hassled but in something as large and visible as 5th wheel, you might want to get one.  this may not be what you're looking for as it's primitive and a long drive out...i get the impression that fishing and getting away from people might not be your primary agenda.

hope this helps.
