Friends are planning a boat trip from Galveston, TX to Cancun and points south.  They are having trouble finding info on marinas on the Gulf of Mexico coast of Mexico north and west of Cancun.  If anyone has info or links to this info, I would appreciate it.
Thanx

Bart

Bart, here is one source potentially.  http://www.mexicoboating.com/

Look for "Cruising Ports: the Central American Route (6th edition)," it covers the gulf side.

I've never read it.  I've read their Mexico Boaters Guide which covers the SOC.  It was "ok," but not as detailed as Gerry Cunningham's stuff.

I'd be supprised if there isn't a slew of books covering the Gulf of Mexico.

Thanx JZ and will pass that on to them.  I was surprised at how little info is available on that area.

Tell them to get Mexico Boating Guide by Pat and John Rains- well traveled delivery captains. I think the latest version cost $90 but covers all of Mexico. Point Loma Publishing, PO Box 60190, San Diego, Ca. 92166   (888) 320-2628

Contact Mrs. Tere Grossman at Marina San Carlos. Tere is the President of Mexican Marinas Association and she generally knows all the latest news about marinas and facilities. In early Spring 2006 I was helping her to create a brochure that would list the marinas and the facilties for boaters, and especially focusing on what facillties that foreign sailors wanted in a marina (i.e., laundry, Wi-Fi, etc.)

If Tere does not have the information on hand she can direct you right to the best source to find it.

Hope this helps you

Bart, Concerning your 2007 post on your friends who were looking for marina information on Mexico's gulf side from Cancun north to the U.S. boarder. Did these friends ever find the information and make the trip. If so, would it be possible to put me in contact with them. I am interested in a similar trip and any information I could get would be helpful.  Thanks in advance...
