Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the current price (in Pesos/liter) is for unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel in the San Carlos/Guaymas area?
Thanks!

John, I only hope the fuel prices will be of some relief once we get to San Carlos.
We aren't hearing back about prices because those already there don't want us to feel bad about our high prices and cold conditions. Can you believe what we are paying for diesel?

BeeGees2,
I know. Diesel prices in the US and Canada are almost heart-breaking. They're certainly wallet-busting!
We've arrived down in San Carlos... and, luckily, we found out from someone in Tucson before we left that diesel prices in Mexico were lower than what we would have paid in Arizona. We waited until we crossed the border and fueled up at the PeMex on highway 15, just before the immigration stop at KM21. We paid only about $1.85/gallon (5.08 pesos/liter). And the price in San Carlos wasn't much higher... about $1.89/gallon. PeMex is a government owned operation, so the pricing is consistent across the country. And since Mexico produces a fair amount of oil, their prices are more reasonable (at least for diesel... we haven't looked at gasoline prices, yet).
Time your re-fuelling carefully so you can get fuel when you cross the border into Mexico! It saved us $50 on one fill up!

| To make everyone feel happy about filling up their tanks, imagine that I just bought diesel here in Sweden this morning and paid 14 pesos/liter. Gas is the same price.

Mikael,
OUCH! I'm not sure that it makes me feel good... but I know that it makes me feel bad for you! I hope you don't have too drive to much and can use public transportation!

| Fuel in general is all along the border (Zona Frontera) cheaper than in SC. So if you can, plan on fueling up close to the border.

| Does anyone know if Marina Real Magna is the same price as any other Pemex?

| So fueling up in Mexico after crossing the border is better than fueling up in Arizona? I'm talking unleaded.

Unleaded is currently at $2.159 at the corner of Grand Ave. and Mariposa (and I believe it is the same at the Fiesta Market on Mariposa going toward the border off of I-19). It has been between $2.15 and $2.21 for several weeks at the independent stations.

| Wow, that's awesome. I am paying $1.57 and thinking that it's a bargain. Thanks for the info!

I can not give you up to date info, but in July my last time I was lucky to be south of the border I got in Hermosillo for 500 Pesos 78.99 liters (20.78 Gallons) 24.0 pesos/liter right north of the 21 km post I got for 500 Pesos 82.6 liers (21.82 Gallons) 22.91 pesos/ lt and north of the border in Green Valley I got for 55.18 US$ 23 Gallons (87.07 lt) 2.399 US$/gallon. But like I said on top this is from past July, someone would need to get current prices to get proper info. all unleade

The price last October was 6.40 pesos per liter for unleaded. It might be a few cents higher now. That works out to about $2.21 US per gallon.
You can convert prices in the US, Canada and Mexico at this web site:
http://www.virtualmex.com/utility.htm
Good luck.

normaly the price of gasoline in the USA was always less expensive than in MEXICO.
and diesel was always more expensive in MEXICO than USA.
but still , i think this is an important question to the people that live in border towns.
50.00 dolars more or less in one trip does not make any difference to me.
there are more important things in live than that.
a small question: how much diesel or fuel spends the normal sportfishermen on one day of fishing???
saludos hans and enjoy your stay.
