Hi,

I have a 21' Sea Pearl cat ketch which I'm considering trailering from Colorado in February. It's a beachable open boat set up for camping. Any information anyone can impart as to what it might be like for a couple of weeks of cruising inshore would be helpful.

Thanks.

Never boated there. Was going to head for Florida and the Ten Thousand Islands and Everglades but thought this might be a good alternative.

I'm somewhat biased, but I love it around San Carlos- a good source of info is Gerry Cunningham's series of books and videos- I would even lend you "Gunkholing Out of San Carlos" DVD (do live live near Denver?)- we'll be towing our San Juan 21 down from Colorado the last weekend in February for the second year in a row- this time I'll leave the boat in dry storage there, but while there we'll rent a slip at Marina San Carlos and daysail most everyday, there's lots to see and do, you'll find the water a little chilly compared to South Florida but there's a good chance you'll see whales, dolphins, sea lions and all sorts of stuff...it's a fairly easy drive the whole way, you'll need to obtain a TIP boat importation permit but that's no big deal and good for 10 years

Sounds terrific. I'm in Allenspark and my e-mail is rob353@nedernet.net if you'd like to write off of this group site. I'd like to pick your brain a bit more if possible.

Thanks.

Rob
