Sounds crazy but I might as well send this out and see..... I want to start a sailing ministry for youth, sailing and teaching them lessons form the sea as we read in scripture. Things like anchoring deep, catching the wind, the tongue is like a rudder and much much more. I have a sailboat in SC, 23 ranger. Great boat but a little tight for a small group. So I am looking into partnering with someone with a like vision. I am presently taking families down to Guaymas to minister to children etc. Doors keep opening so I thought I might as well throw this out there and see if there is any interest......been sailing in sea of cortez for mnay years and been sailing for 12 years mostly sailboats from23 - 26...also have sailed in san jauns and greece...

Hey Mike.
My name is Daniel livingston Im 19 and live in Australia. This is a bit weird for me, a few years back i had a vision that god wanted me to serve him by sailing, i never knew how or why but over the last few months it has be playing in my head so iv been praying (lol ALOT) and asking him to make it a little more clear what he wants me to do, so one night im at my computer praying and i had the idea to post my vision on a christain forum, a day later i have people giving me links to sailing ministries and i read your post. I would love to hear more about your youth sailing ministie idea.
Iv been sailing for about 6 years now just at local sailing clubs and very much enjoy it, i have my own NS14 sailing dingy that im doing to some repairs to at the moment, my grandfather onw a 30ft yacht that anchors in the local bay just 5 minuts away i have been honored of helping him restore this fin boat since it had been badly looked after.
My parents have been in the scouting movemonet since i was born and i have gone up through the sections of scouts gaining some very useful skills, while in the scouting movement iv have had the oppintunity to work with alot of youth and very much enjoy it.

Hey...good to hear from you way down in Australia. Pretty amazing that the Lord has been speaking to you about a sailing ministry. I am taking a group to San Carlos in a week or so to do outreach to children in 4 different communities. I will be taking some families on small sailing ventures but nothing much...I just keep praying about the whole thing waiting to see what the Lord might do.
I will write more when I return. Should be a fantastic trip as I introduce 5 families to Mexico missions...
Keep me posted on what you are doing
Blessings
Mike

Hey Mike.
I find that it is taking time for it to all line up but i do and will continue to pray for god to do what must be done, even if i dont manage to get into some sort of sailing ministry, if it is god will then i am pleased =).
Well thing have been quite down here for the past few weeks. Youth had a break because of school holidays and I missed church last sunday =s (oops) but I am keen to get back into helping my local youth group when school goes back, its a great feeling when you know that your teaching our future about the lord and his word.
Just the other day I recieved an email from a relitive of mine who is apart of a christain camping restort or what ever it is =p.. anyway its called Blue Lagoon, very nice place it has close beach's and the ground that surround the cabins and hall are perfect for kids camps. I went on one of there kids camps last summer to help out for my first time. it was so much fun that i came back for the teen camp a couple of months ago. lol anyway my relitive Andy sent me and email asking if i would join the committee for the Blue lagoon site! so ill be going along to the annual meeting this coming thursday and i hope that i can give them some great ideas, maybe be some sailing =)
