Surfing is found a bit further south from here. We just don't get the waves (usually) Right before a storm, you can find some, but that is about it. I don't know of anyone who rents boards locally. Wind surfing and kiteboarding are the popular activity, because we do get the wind this time of year.

No surf. Baja blocks the Pacific swell.

When we have really big hurricanes down south you can get some point breaks that are surfable but in other than that you have to go to Mazatlan or a few spots a little farther north of there for surf.
The kiteboarding and windsurfing here is world class though and no crowds!!!!

| I'm wondering about the ferry to Santa Rosalia to access surfing at Scorpion Bay. Know anyone that makes the trip from San Carlos? Also, anyone you could put me in contact with about mtn biking in San Carlos? Am coming there in March to check out rentals for 9 months starting in Sept, hoping windsurfing and mtn biking are plentiful. Another cold, wet NW winter-ahhggg!!San Carlos dreaming, it's been 21 years since I windsurfed there, I'm sure it's changed.

The winds don't start blowing until October for windsurfing, there are more housed on the beaches now but the beach at La manga and Los algodones are very accesible for launching. The mountian biking is excellent with some very nice single track as well now. Stop by the shop when you are in town and we can show you on the map some of the nicer spots.

Seems the sancarlosrentals website is down. Will be there Sat 3/25 for a week looking for a 9 month rental that allows a dog. Anywhere around town that locals post notices, coffee house? Also does the place at paradiso rent sailboards? I think we windsurfed N of the old club med beach, since that was pretty flat water. Last, does the shop in town rent mtn bikes? Thanks , Heather.

Check our rentals page on the main web site for contacts/leads to follow when you arrive. You also find rental info on our apartments/condo page and beach house pages. San Carlos Rental page is working fine from here. Talk to First Choice Property about long term rentals-they are rehabbing an apartment complex and are pet friendly.
