Here is a review of the Slingshot Machine. I have two in stock, a 17.5 and 20.5 meter!!!

The Machine
What they say:
This is the one kite that will revolutionize your perception of lightwind kiting. A successful lightwind session requires a kite that can offer consistent power, efficiency, and balance. The Machine is all that and more. Now you can control the performance, kite shape, and broad range of power with three new innovations. Oneline, Splitflex, and Power Curve working together to make the Machine the ideal tool for lightwind kiting.
MACHINE BENEFITS FOR LIGHTWIND
• Superior Upwind Ability - Drives upwind for a powered downwind reach
• Lightwind Relaunchablity - Oneline allows for roll-over relaunch in the lightest winds imaginable
• Efficient - Delivers consistent power and speed throughout the stroke

The Machine comes complete with the Machine Online Profire Bar.

What we say:
This is the highest quality, most technically advanced kite that has hit the market to date. The main things that one notices about the Machine 17.5 is that it has significantly more power than any other 17m in its class. The power of the 17.5 is comparable to most other 20m kites. The Machine turns extremely fast and has very light bar pressure. Most light wind kites make your elbows hurt within a short time of riding it because the steering is so stiff, while this is very smooth and comfortable.

Over all the Machine is the best light wind kite that has ever come out. Riding it makes you realize that it has a lot more to give than what you first realize. Every time that we ride this kite we learn something new about it and realize how much more it can do. – Matt Nuzzo- co-founder REAL Kiteboarding

Rode the 17.5 machine on 2 different occasions. One time, very light winds(probably blowing 8-12mph)and I was able to stay upwind with ease. Even able to pull a few kite loops with the kite finishing the loop way before I hit the water. Haven't had a big kite been able to do that for me before in really light winds. The second time I rode it, the winds started out really light, then started to pick up to the mid to upper teens. Just did a quick pull of the 5th line, cleated it in, and had a smaller kite feel that easily flew far forward in the window and allowed me to bite upwind..

Overall: Great light wind kite with on the fly sheeting and trim control that gets you on the water when the wind is lighter and keeps you on the water longer.-Pat Lemoine- REAL Retail Manager

The 17.5 Machine is very light on the bar, turns with little effort, and delivers ultra-smooth power in the marginal conditions it's designed for. When I was riding the only other guy out weighed 150 and was on a 25m. I'm 195, was on the 17.5 a 140cm WLF, had no trouble getting powered up and staying upwind. I've taken it out with a short surfboard and could ride it upwind when it wasn't gusting much over ten. I thought it worked great as a light wind solution, not to mention the bar is the cleanest 5th line set-up out there and the only bar with the ability to trim your 5th line on the fly. The whole package is killer. -Zack 'Z$' Young Veteran REAL Coach and Sales

The thing fricken rocks in light wind! It turns on a dime, jumps awesome, flies in nothing, re-launches pathetically easily, gives you power when you need it, and it depowers and is still fun to ride when the wind kicks up. Don't bother buying a normal kite larger than a 16 ever again. -Erik Stone – REAL Kiteboarding Coach

The Machine worked really well for my lightwind lesson with Carl. Once up to speed, it generated a fast, slippery pull translating to excellent board speed. The kite was stable and light in the air and the simplicity of the One-Line bar setup allowed for hookup and go with
minimal instructions. No problem for new riders or students that have basic riding skills. -Colin Gowland- REAL Kiteboarding- Head Coach

The MACHINE is the same as other kites in that it is inflatable and has all of the same parts (LE, Struts, Canopy, etc). That is where the similarity ends. Where it goes from there is to a world in a planet far far away, where designer Tony Logoz has stepped outside of the box of what is currently our product industry, and taken it to a place we have yet to understand. The combination of all the tech with the shape of the kite and flaps, all controlled by the One Line are amazing. It truly allows one kite to perform like a variety of shapes. One Line out.. rides similar to a FUEL. Pull the One Line in and the kite instantly feels like a skinny (high aspect-Take a shot ) kite, sitting at the edge of the window and cruising upwind. Bottom Line: The Machine works… and it works well… and combined with the One Line System it will re define light wind riding. - Gregg ‘Tekko’ Gnecco- media@realkiteboarding.com

What they say:
Simply the cleanest and highest performance 5th line system on the market! Oneline features all of the safety benefits of a 5th line system and added breakthrough performance features that enhances overall power, depower, and control of the kite. With the Oneline Control Kit the rider can adjust and lock the ‘angle of attack' of the kite by controlling the tension on the LE. The Oneline Control Kit is attached to the center of the leading edge and has the ability to change the performance by pulling tension into the Oneline

I setup the One Line system on the Buxton shop display bar yesterday with Tommy and Waves lesson center display bar today. I simply opened the box and
Once again Slingshot has left everyone else in the dust! The One Line system is hands down the most simple and effective 5 line bar solution ever.... and by a long, long way! If you are going to fly 5 lines on your kite, regardless of brand or model, then you should be riding with this system! Until someone directly copies it, no one will even come close to the simplicity and effectiveness of this system!- Gregg ‘Tekko’ Gnecco – media@realkiteboarding.com
