I will be sailing from San Diego to San Carlos the first part of November and I am trying to find out about cell phone or internet service in San Carlos... Is it possible to get wireless internet in the marina or in the bay on a hook? Anyone have suggestions.
Thanks

I have heard it is tough to get a signal in the bay but practically all bars in San Carlos now have free wifi so just bring your laptop with you and might be online before you get to the dinghy dock.

Hey Riverat, I used to be one also. We are here now in San Carlos to serve you and the sailing and cruising community- and the community in general. We have wireless internet access, purified water, ice, fine ambiance, good food, cold beer and grog, propane dropoff service, and more. Located 1 block from Marina San Carlos up the street on the west side of the marina and across the boulivard from Tequilas. We are Club de Capitanes/Captains Club. Come see us for a cold one or an iced tea and comidas muy sobrosa. Mike

I'm just a visitor- been here for 3 weeks. My Verizon cell is expensive but works OK. Internet at my house is weak- around the Marina good. I recommend getting a USB WiFi adapter and a long USB cable so you can get the antenna up in the air and move it for best signal. This post is from my rental in Villa Hermosa, but the signal is really weak.
