| Was in San Carlos last weekend and saw the kite boarders down in front of the paradiso. AWESOME!!!! Looked like great fun! As a long time wake boarder I would be very interested in trying it on my next trip down, any possibilities of rental equipment and lessons? If so any ideas of the costs? Thanks, Dan.

Dear Dan we teach kite boarding over at the Sonoran Sport Center. We have several different packages for learning. Our best package is to buy some used gear from us at great prices and then we teach you at no extra price. I deal almost exclusively in Slingshot kite gear. It is about the best on the market and I get better than wholesale prices on prorider kites and then pass the savings on to our students. A prorider kite is a kite that has been used for one season up in the gorge by a sponsored proffesional rider and then returned to the factory. The kites are slightly used. The season is now upon us so let us know when you are coming back into town, it is imparitive to come during a wind cycle so drop me an email and I can tell you weather I think it is going to be windy when you plan on coming back. In the meantime get a small two line stunt kite and fly it a lot. Since you have a wakeboarding background you will pick it up fast, but it is all about the kite and how you fly it.
Sincerely Vince

How about good old windsurfing? Is it possible to buy some equipment in San Carlos? Or is it too old and everybody is doing the kite now?

I do have quite a few sails left over from the good old days, some have never been used. What kind of gear are you looking for, light wind high wind?

| We are coming to San Carlos in mid december, and are going to stay until april. Is that a windy season? I remember that I didn't like sails bigger than 5.5 square meters, and the boards we used were about 9 feet (could that have been slalom-boards?). This was in the early 90's. I will come by when we get there and check the things out. Hopefully I still remember how to do it!

| I'll be in San Carlos mid-January to mid-February. I'm bring my windsurfing gear down with me. Hope there will be good wind then. What size sails and board are best for that time of year?

| Vince, thank you for your informative reply. I will be down at xmas time and will stop into the store to check it out, hopefully the wind will be in compliance at that time. Thanks, Dan.

Been out of town on a 5 day sailing trip, had some big wind, 30 plus knots when we left on monday. Water temperature this week has been between 67 degrees and 73 between San Carlos and San Pedro Island and San Pedro point with good water vizibility at San Pedro point on the inside and South point of SAn Pedro Island.
Big red tide all over the coast right now and between San Carlos and the Island.
Jan and Febuary are the windiest months of the year and I typically windsurf on a 4.5 meter sail and a small bump and jump windsurf board. 8 feet long about 75 liters of volume. I wiegh around 145 pounds. Of course if you really want to sail all conditions then you should have a bigger slalom sail as well and a bigger board.

| Thanks Vince. I'll plan on bringing a 110 liter board and 6.0 sail for light winds and a smaller board and sails for windy days. Look forward to getting to San Carlos around Jan. 15th. Will be there for a month.
