Just a quick little video of one of my favorite spots to anchor at around the San Carlos area. Ensenada Chica and Caleta Venecia. @ 15 miles north of San Carlos. If you draw more than 6 feet you may not be able to get into Chica and have to anchor in Venecia. Two great little coves to visit. The fishing camp @ Ensenada chica can also be a great place to pick up some fish or lobster. Over the years we have traded for lobster with the local fisherman and Chica is one of the calmest spots to anchor in a strong north westery. Virtually no swell wrapping around the point and actually pretty fair protection from wind as well. The last few seconds of Video are of Seri Muerto, perhaps one of the best snorkeling coves on the coast of Sonora, a few miles south of Venecia and Chica and just north of punta San Pedro. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1724302041037295901

we recently camped at Venecia for a few days........beautiful, and almost no trash on the shore.   nice place to launch boat from shore too.  aside from some pangeros, we didn't see any people anywhere near there.

if you're coming via shore, be prepared from some fun 4WD action along narrow steep coastal roads getting there:shock:, and don't even think about trying to drive down onto the beach....very deep shell which will bog even a 4WD fast unless you have serious sand tires:(

don't ask me how i know this, and yes, you're welcome to the nice collection of flat rocks we assembled to make escape road back to terra firmer...........:P

There is no el moreno near ensenada chica that I am aware of. I believe Posmo Moreno is an achorage located just north of Las Cocinas, perhaps this is the one you are refering to. I was just there first week of March.

Chica and  Venecia are about 10-15 miles up the coast  from Ensenada Grande toward Kino.  My mileages may be a bit off as the charts are on the boat and I am working from a weak memory.

Chica and Venecia are perhaps 5 miles up the coast from ensanada grande.  They are just south of Punta Blanca. Himalaya beach is just north of punta blanca.
