Anyone know what the current water temps are at the surface and at depth?  I am planning on heading out late February.

Thanks!

Latest current SST chart shows surface temps in the low 60s.  Historical average temp for Feb is 64 and for March 67.  Bring your wet/dry suit.

Thanks for the link and info!

Has anyone been in the water lately?  Wondering about the thermoclines, viz, etc.

Spent the last 3 days diving at the Island, had 62 at the surface and 60 at 100'.

1st day there was no current and Viz was about 30' once you got down below 40', but it improved over the next couple of days to 40 - 50', as the current picked up.

Best Viz was at the South Point pinnacle on Sat, once we got below 40' depth.

There was a stiff current, but managable. Yellowtail everywhere!

Think you could count on similar water temps in late Feb, unfortunately, the Viz can change overnight and think we were lucky to get what we got this time of year.

Good luck!

I've experienced the strong currents and sudden viz changes there so it sounds like conditions are pretty normal for this time of year.

Thanks for the updates!!
