I'm planning a dive trip to S. Carlos over the weekend of the 10-13th. I'm hearing about some different systems moving in that direction-- either a tropical storm from Baja and/or high winds & cooler front from the northwest - depends on who I am talk to. Any ideas, folks?

I was on again off again, prior to the last tropical storm approaching, Lowell.
Ended up being one of the finest weekends I've ever had diving in SC.
I'd say, go for it! Don't let the weather deter you.
All else fails, sit on the Beach and enjoy a cervesa or rent a sail boat from Vince.
See you there.

You can keep a weather eye on things from the links on our tide/solunar page at http://www.sancarlosmexico.com/solunar.html

Thank you one & all for your input & updates regarding upcoming weekend & the weather conditions. I've been looking forward to escaping to S. Carlos since school started back in August (I'm a school teacher,) so I don't think we're going to miss this chance for a couple days of blowing bubbles.

Must eat crow on this one, just trying to be an optomist.
Port is closed, weather sucks and there ain't no diving this weekend.
If you're off all week, I'm planning to dive Thursday on El Mar's new boat, meant to go to the island.
Good luck!

Hey ACWAMAN!
No worries -- we toughed it out, took our chances & arrived in S. Carlos late Friday PM. Did 3 boat dives Saturday & then hung out, enjoying the sun and spent a lot of time snorkeling Sunday/Monday. We got lucky this time! : ) So, don't bite that crow too hard!!

I'm glad to hear it!
I did get word that I should have done the same, as it wasn't that bad, but was flexible on timing and able to put it off a few days.
In fact, I'm writing this from the Marina Cantina having just got back from a morning at the island.
Beautiful day!
Take care!
