Im not a diver but you guys might want to check out santa rosalia island a new friend of mine Scott Cassell from underseavoyager is there until aug 21 doing a study on humboldt squid great guy & I know he would welcome anyone who wants to make the trip they are a non profit organization & this is his self funded project his website is underseavoyager.org good luck
