Well, I guess I PO'd the fish demons; big problems at work, Buoyweather went from flat to "Dolly Parton" in two days, and global warming was a myth. If the water keeps cooling, get anchovies - penguins eat them. Good luck this weekend, and pop a can for me if the first fish really do show up at 40, 50, or 100 miles! Hasta el semana AFTER Semana Santa!

Just returned to warm Indianapolis from a week in SC.  Please tell me its not always that windy there.  After dragging a 25 footer 2000 miles to leave there I was a little distressed.

L&S - I just missed you! You were pulling the boat just as I launched Friday afternoon. By the time I tied off in the slip, you were gone. I recognized the name of the boat, but couldn't place it until now. You hit some bad stuff from what I heard - Saturday afternoon may have been worse! I got there too late to think about the 40 mile run on Saturday morning - GOOD THING! I'd have been an unhappy sailor coming uphill against that wind. I have had several multi-day trips where it was too bad to even leave the harbor in a 23 footer, but I have had the best to go with it. Only difference is No Sniveling is already there, and it took me less than five hours to get there and have the boat in the slip from Rio Rico. I feel for ya', but you gotta try again for a May or October trip. I can't say there is any less chance of wind, but the weather and warm blue water are spectacular. Plus, there are always those amazing days when you see 100 billfish and the reels sound off every 20 minutes! Hope the trip was at least enjoyable for you and the family.

Lo siento! Stinking viento! :( Craig :(

L&S  No, it is not always that windy in SC, but it certainly can be disappointing when the winds blow away limited fishing days. We have had days when we stay tied to the dock rather than take the beating.  We have had days when we went anyway and took the beating.  And we have had those days when the SOC looked like a glass top table.  You takes the bad with the good.  The lay days can be disheartening but I can usually find something constructive to do on the boat to pass the time or just take a siesta.  Fair winds and calmer seas on your next visit.
