I  need a source for good, regular sea charts for "our" part of The SOC.  Seems that I can find places that supply charts for all of the world's seas except The Sea Of Cortez. Are they available? Where? Any suggestions?

Also, for much of the world's saltwater, there are lists/charts that include GPS lat/lon number for local fishing hot spots, and other local points of interest, danger etc...do such things exist for San Carlos and where can I find them?

(aka "el gringo")

Are you looking for paper charts or the electronic variety?

I wanted some paper charts. I have the electonic one, but mine is not very detailed. Just today I found what I want on line and ordered it. Thanks a million for your interest.:)

I'll suggest two sources for paper charts.  The first is Gerry Cunnningham's series of cruising guides, plotting charts and coastal charts including good coverage of the San Carlos area.  These are available at Marina San Carlos office or you can order them online from Gerry's web site at http://www.gerrycruise.com/.

The second chart is a fishing chart by fish-n-map.  These can be ordered from several online sources, including the company home page at http://www.fishnmap.com/index.html.  The chart needed for San Carlos is Sea of Cortez North.  This has bottom contours and underwater structure and is pretty accurate.
I have both kinds of charts on board and they are invaluable.
