I got too excited - I meant to look at Terrafin. However, Buoyweather has shown some incredible water, and my wife verified that the view from Mirador was the calmest she had ever seen on Saturday.

I'm not sure I'm buying this water temp chart-looping the charts would indicate the water temps went up several degrees in one day? With max air temps in the high 60's, it just does not seem possible the water can warm up that fast. Has anybody been off shore that can give water temp observations?

Bart,
I am waiting for a response from Fernando and Jason - they were heading to Tortuga on Saturday and should have passed through the "hotspots" shown. It does seem unusal that it went up that much, but looking at Mulege, Loreto, Topolobampo, and La Paz, those maps show the same patterns and change in the last days. I hope it's true!!!!

I just checked terrifin and he is right. About 13-17 out on the 210 it is showing 70 degrees. Also checked topolabampo and it has 72 water in the same mass of water that quits just a little SW of San Carlos.
Going out tomorrow will give a update and will go over in a while and check the water temp this morning at the dock

Thomas,
Look at the 5PM shot from yesterday - the 5:30AM shot this morning had the overnight cooling.

| I'm new to the area. Will all these locations that everyone is referring to show up on my blue water chart for my GPS or am I going to have to ask for directions. I hate doing that.

Lime & Salt?
I'm not sure what your question is about locations? If you would like, you can email me. Just click on "No Sniveling" in the Author area for the email.

Ahhhhhhh.... I see it now. Wow, that's so sweet! I can't wait until we get first sightings of those beautiful tails sticking out of the water on a flat calm morning.

Thomas,
I watch the Guaymas, Mulege, Loreto, Topolobampo, and even the La Paz temperature charts to see what is coming from the south. You will start to see large masses of warmer water "move" to the north in the next few weeks. I am certain the water doesn't move, but rather the continued ascent of the sun to the northern hemisphere is causing increased surface warming further north each day. Anyway, when it's 72 degrees 150 south, it will be here soon!
