I had a PM from a regular on the forum who has suggested we do our own little Hall of Fame for fishing.  Basic premise is to record big fish by species and maintain as a somewhat lasting memory of some of our catches over the years.  Basic premise would be the fish needs to be caught under IGFA rules (or noted as an exception). Keep track for both men and women (and juniors?).  We would host that on the main web site, vice the message board to maintain permanence.  Mention would be self nominating, unless caught in a tournament and subject of an official weigh in. Those would simply be added as appropriate.

For example, the biggest blue i can remember was caught on Predator in the 2001 International and weighed 504.  Photo of that monster at the marina cantina.

Biggest black was the one team caught out of marina real 2-3 years ago that was over 700 and has photos with Catch 22 Steve?

Tuna i recall was 106 on Martillo in the first or second cantina cup?

Wahoo might be the one Telamon just recorded?

What are your thoughts on how to structure this? But let's apply the KISS prionciple.

Bart  I think thats a great idea but might be alot of work for somenone B??T, or committee, submissions may be submitted on the forum with a poll to  allow it or vote it down, maybe one of the tounaments each year could have a trophy with a new inductee? sounds fun  but Adams wahoo doesnt get my vote I didnt get a taste:P

That is a great idea.  Maybe we would put these pictures on the wall at the Marina Cantina next to the Cantina Cup!  I am sure everyone would like photos of the largest fish ever caught in San Carlos.

Susan Frost has the Wahoo title ........ 100# mas o menos.  That thing was a monster!

Marcos is the only man to ride a sperm whale.

I win for most anglers released.

I like the idea ..... yes a bit of work to get it together.  It might be a great way to promote catch and release also.  When I caught my first sailfish in North Carolina, the skipper escorted me to an office where he registered my catch, the gentleman checked and noted my fishing license, and my name was entered in the port record.  I received a "certificate" suitable for framing for submitting my catch that cost $25 ..... it still hangs in my house to this day.  A great way to remember and record your catches!  Maybe combine selling fishing permits with the Hall of Fame office?

No, Marcos wrestled with it for a ten count and three dunks before he cut himself free. I rode it single and tandem for up to fifteen minutes (while I worked to cut it free), unless there was another incident where he 'free' rode it. I have the pictures to prove it.

We do have a swordfish fishery!

Thanks for the info. Pilo! I didn't know that any tuna that big were caught, as well as dorado. I'll just have to keep fishing.

How about yellowtail? I know that Don Perlmutter caught one that was 26 kilos.
