After missing a big one a month ago and passing four large fish lately, we finally got a nice one. My cousin recouped from a week of stomach upheavals to boat a 250# blue yesterday and 150# Stripe today. Both came right in the center. Our friends also lost a large one midday.
We had three ticklers on the way over. The first fish we had come up today probably backed off when my cousin threw the boat out of gear I guess thinking the fish was hooked, just as I was initiating a bait and switch. Then we hooked up and almost had a double. We and the other boat had very brief sail hook-ups. Lots of jumpers everwhere from very nice fish from the reef to Tortuga.
Big lures were the call with my pitch baits being dropped for a better meal. Maybe it's time to order some bigger ballyhoo!
Passed two very brief tuna schools.
