I receive a special newsletter, but the report is a little aged...

From JonJen Charters - email: jonjencharters@yahoo.com

Hello guys and gals and friends...well once again am late with this report...but I had to go fishing yesterday sorry about that...week started off a a bit slow...with the steady southerlies making it rock and roll fishing...some boats catching Tuna at 35 miles...others catching the little footballs at 10 miles...Dorado are being elusive...but we are starting to find some schoolies and am seeing lots of flying fish...want to hear a fish story...no choice here it goes...

My fishing buddy and friend Greg who fished the last two tournaments with me...and we went nada nada in the last tournament goes fishing all by himself in 3-5 swells and heads south...sets lines at 7 miles and with just him, sets only three lines...No sooner than there set bam two lines go off...now what...so Greg plays catch up with two rods reel one then the other and bring them in slowly one at a time...I don´t know but two at a time its work guys and gals...so finally gets one in cuts it away...release #1 then its time for #2 Greg was all wired up... he says because no one telling him where to go and where not to go no one to tell him what to do etc. etc. just him and the fish...Well long story short he finally gets #2 in and releases it two for two nice Sailfish....

Phew...Greg says well should I head back or keep going,oh heck he says, so he puts it in gear and throws out a little purple bass type lure figuring he would just troll that until he gets more bait ready to go...ballyhoo etc...as he preparing everything... bam something hits and goes deep thinking it was a tuna...story shorten again he fights the fish for 1/2 hour then finally gets it to the boat another Sail release #3....decision time... in or continue???

Decision made heads on out to the break we both wanted to find..No sooner than he gets all lines and bam a nice Dorado...again decision (go or not to go) right... out he goes again and within a 30 min sees a group of 5 marlin oh ______...with that said do I have to say it...yes two more fish on....by this time Greg says his arms are toasted...well as luck would have it one got off..so Greg only had to worry about the last remaining fish...so this one took its time coming up but finally release #4...decision time again... Well you all guessed it... head for the barn...

So he walks into our office 5 hours since he left exhausted and just said 4 sails and 1 Dorado and I need a cold one..he said he had one beer and he didn´t have time to even drink it cause he was way to busy...he had opened and with all the action knocked it over.....That said you may have bad days but these days you will always remember the ones the kicked your butt...

To close this week report the fishing is getting good and the fish are here and we are catching each day but you have to work at it...was out yesterday with friends and we caught and released two nice female Dorado and one nice sail....

JULY SPECIAL.... pay for 6 hours and fish for 8 hours.....tight lines and hope we see you all soon...when booking please refer to the email thanks jon and jen and the animal family....

Fished last week Tues-Wed- Thurs.  Fish were scarce...picked up 2 nice dorado each day at the LL's. (22-31Miles at approx 230)  Saw one tailer on Wed. on the run in.

Baits- Imitation and Real Ballyhoo w/feathers, very productive on day 2 were my "Petrolero's'" that I use down at Los Barilles.  SevenStrand head with Orange/brown feathers- double hooks. 6 big strikes-2 landed.

Sad! LL's were loaded with turtles of all sizes.  All in all great trip...see ya'll August 10th bringing the todo familia.

P.S.- Ruby's Wine bar is the bomb.  What a way to end the day, sitting on the marina boardwalk, a cab-sav or 3, MonteCristo Churchill stogie, watching the sun go down, and staring at Teta's!
