Are there any particular places that mackerel or sardines can be caught off San Carlos? I've caught many (macks) from Loreto to East Cape to Cabo (both macks and sardines) and assume that the marlin and dorado moving-in to San Carlos may indicate presence of mackerel or other bait.
I fished Guaymas in the 60's to early 70's and we used Lisa (live mullet) and never tried for macks or sardines. This is my first time back since about 1972. By the way, this is where we caught our first Blue Marlin and Wahoo. All fishing at that time was out of Guaymas (pre-San Carlos Marina era).
