We hit the water today for a practice day prior to the start of the tournament. Thanks to Steve Fusco for allowing us to use Lucky Ducks. We had heard and prepared for pitching live baits to tailing Marlin, but we never expected to be mobbed. We pitched bait at over 20 stripers during the afternoon bite, or should I say migration. Lots of tail, no takers. We ended up with one nice Dorado and lots of pitching experience. We have been running smack with folks from the four corners of Mother Earth. Turns out fishing is a universal language. We have met teams from Italy, Croatia, Oman, Australia, New Zealand and some strange country called Alabama (couldn’t understand a darn word they said).
If you don’t hear from us again it is because we are stinking up the place.

Is there a website where we can follow this event. Went to http://www.wcbrt.com but don't think it will have the dailys. Fishing starts today (Sunday) according to the web site. Wishing the San Carlos team the best of luck.

Matt and Mateo,
Best of luck to you guys! If you can say you fished in the World Championship it's a dream 99.99% of the fishermen in the world will never realize! You can be proud and know that we're proud you are there - giv'em hell!

Wow.
I'd lie if I say I didn't pull a tear during the start. Very humbling to be in the presence of such anglers and world camaraderie.
Short cap, we were one for two today. We were first on the board for billfish today, and last fish we saw was 8:30am. Most fish was 7 marlin. Tecate fought a barely 100# marlin for 90 minutes to get our points set. That's what it took on 30# tackle that is supposed to break at 28#. As he fought, I was soaking a live bait on the bow. A marlin took it about 30 minutes in, ran, was hooked, the rudely turned, inhaled, and spit the hook at me like a 1 year old kid who doesn't like his cheerios. Trust me, I know 1 year olds and it was the same thing.
We go in tomorrow solid, re-rigged, and ready. Same game plan, more beer supply, more will and and suerte, suerte, suerte. Thanks for the local support. We're making SC proud. Rock on. Happy Fishing. MB

Team San Carlos showed up today!
We went 3 for 4 marlin on circle hooks rigged with naked hoo's (sorry Stuart )! Good day for the entire field. Team Italy had a big day with 5 marlin. Lots of blue flags coming in. We are still in the hunt. Two days left. I think we are in the top twenty.
Viva San Carlos!

I Hope you diden't turn all of those foreign people on to San Carlos! Keep talking real, but never reveal your source. Those Marlin you mentioned are heading our way and I would hate to see the waters over crowded with people from "Alabama" , Italy, Croatia, New Zealand, Austrailia, NZ. I hope you guys struggle with big billfish all day and win, place, or show. Hope your competitors miss a lot of fish so they make their way North to SC waters.
