I am planning a trip to SC May 14-18 to chase dorado and striped marlin - maybe tuna if around
terrafin is showing 70-72d water hovering 60 mi south of town with some warm spots closer
What do you guys think it will like in 2 weeks?
am I jumping the gun?

I see 73.4 today at 23 miles 199 - If I were the Great Carnac or Naked Weatherman, I would tell you to expect fish to be there in 15 days - not always tuna, but Stripes and dorado.....

Heading out the water was getting close to 72. I thought the boat ahead four miles off the island was my buddy looking for dorado. I put up the yellow flag to tease him. Turned out there were yellowtail breezing the small bait for over a mile or more. A few hours of messing with them only turned up one a 3" lure and 20# test. I had the spinning rods ready the night before and forgot them. A small spoon may have worked.
The water was reading up to 76 until a few miles from the island. I swear I read a small pocket of 78 degree water just outside as I checked out the Spinners. Didn't mark anything ahead of them. A band of twenty sea lions came out after the three hundred porpoise in a line. Never saw a Mahi but was very tempted to head out. They'll be here within the week.
