I keep my boat stored in Kino Nuevo and usually hang out around that area. However, as I am now retired and wife will be also in a year or so, I am curious about hauling my boat down and launching to fish Isla San Pedro when the fishing is hot there and cold up here. I am familiar with the old marina, although it has been around 15 years since last there, but know nothing about the new one out near Mirador. What is it's name and what is the procedure for getting launched, price etc? I've gotten the TIP and all,but wondered what else I need to know if we come down some time. Is there a web site for the newer marina? I think we might stay at the El Mirador RV on our boat if we came for a couple of days. (next Fall) Thanks for any help. I follow the fishing forum closely and it has helped a lot.

Nightwing,

If you haven`t been here in that long, it woud be to your advantage to come down here and spend a day checking San Carlos out.  You could visit the marinas, check them out and inquire as to their rates. I have been here for 20 years and the changes have been astounding.

There have been some questions as to  the El Mirador`s future but there are other parks in town.

For information on the new marina, this site may be helpful:

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask, either by PM or on this board.

Thanks for the feedback and website info. You are right about needing to get down there to check things out and will do so in October or when I can come for a longer period next year. I don't even know if the resaurant, "La Roca" exists still. Those YT photos are driving us nuts.
