| I know I have seen it discussed here -- is there a link to previous insurance discussions somewhere? I am particularly interested in finding combination US/Mexico boat insurance like Progressive that covers while moving a boat from US to San Carlos -- is there still a package through a fishing club? -- I believe Vagabundos (spelling?) used to have a plan. I plan to move a boat from US to dry storage in San Carlos for the season and put into a slip for a week or so at a time. Any advice is appreciated.

I get my Mexican insurance through the Vags. It is a tourist policy, meant for trailer boaters that tow in and out of Mexico. Cost is based on the total value of your tow vehicle, trailer, and boat. This is "road" insurance, not on the water insurance. Only Covers you for loss while towing in Mexico.
My US insurance policy is a yacht policy I buy through the Sawyer Cook Agency in Redlands, CA. They offer a Southcoast endorsement -- on the water coverage that covers you to something like 50 miles south of Cabo San Lucas at no additional charge. I don't have the policy handy, but there are stipulations about how long the boat can be stored in Mexico.
And finally, I buy a Mexican on-the-water liability policy every year. About $100. You'll need this in the even of fuel/oil spill, damage to other boats, etc. You *have* to have this to check into any of the marinas in San Carlos; they will make a copy of it and include it in your folder at the marina.
Bottom line from previous discussions was to make certain you have full loss coverage while the boat is stored in Mexico during the season.

| Where do you get your "on the water" insurance? I have tried calling around some but have been getting quotes much closer to $200 than $100.

| I get the "on-the-water" liability policy through Vagabundos, too.
