Can anyone give me some advice on how to catch fish from the shore?  Any and all help would be much appreciated.  I'm taking my two little boys fishing this summer and want to be as well prepared as possible.

We cought some fish from shore next to Charlie's Rock. Gary (Gary's Dive Shop) gave us good advice about where to get bait and where to fish. We got our bait (squid) at Lay's supermarket as there was no bait to be had in San Carlos. It was real easy to walk across to the beach from the campground and cast out. Good Luck!

I have done a lot of fishing from shore with mixed results, usually catching a lot of small fish and I have thrown them all back.

My favorite spot to fish between The two restaurants on the Malecon.

I purchase fresh frozen (not cooked) shrimp at Safeway or Walmart before coming down as finding bait in SC sometimes is difficult

I use the old fashioned method of A 2 ounce sinker and two hooks on a surf leader. Its very simple and should be a great way to get youngsters started.

Good Luck
