It's a long shaft, by the way.  I'm located in Phoenix and don't plan to see SC until March or April.  If your still without by then, I could bring it down.......Jon

I have a slightly used Johnson long shaft in SC.   I cant remember the horse power but you can see it at Marine mart.  They have it sitting round somewhere.   Jarrod

I live in N. Phoenix and plan on a lightning trip to SC in April and a 10 day stay when the locals yell "fish" sometime in May.  602 989 2125

I don't know about the boat thing.  Hopefully, I will have sold the Seaswirl by then.  I'm going to wait another week before I start advertising.  As soon as it sells, I'm buying half interest in a 23' Mako that's always in SC and will probably use the Mako in May regardless.  Why don't you call me and we can figure out where and when travel will be advantageous............Jon

Before anybody jumps on me I am going to preface all of this by saying Skip and Fishinmagishin have done nothing wrong.  I want to use this to illustrate some capabilities of the board that may not be obvious.

In this case, two members are having an exchange that really has no impact on the rest, ie a private conversation.  That's OK but maybe a better way is to use the capability to send each other private messages.  In that way, they can exchange info, phone numbers and email addresses without the other 400+ of us seeing that information. In fact they can continue the message exchange privately, off the board and the only ones who see those messages are them.

Here is an easy way to do that, using this dialogue as an example.  To open the private message box, all you need to do is click on the user name in Author column on the left to open a pull down menu that includes the user profile, send a private message and send email if the user allows that in his setup.  So Skip, rather than post his phone number could have clicked on the fishinmagishin user name and sent him a private message with that info and then maybe just posted a note that he'd sent a private message.

The private message indicator is right next to the Logged in as *username* and will indicate when you have a private message.  Give it a try-it's a nice feature of the board and lets you converse in private.

Please don't everybody test it by sending one to me-I already know how it works.;)

Thanx skip and fishinmagishin for letting me use your dialogue as a teaching point.

Bart
