Are there decent places to bottom fish around San Carlos that can be reached reasonably from a 19 foot wellcraft ? What might be the expected catch during the winter ? How about from shore ? Thanks again , I sure do appreciate all the info/help you guys have been giving a newcomer to San Carlos  . Poppo

I would hire a local captain. They can show you whats up and were you can fish with your size boat. Thats what I did when I first started fishing S.C.. I still hire a local Mexican captain by the name of Joel .You can find him at the docks at the old marina. Just ask around for him. He is very good and a very nice guy. We have ended up being pretty good friends. Thats all I got! Give it a try. Mike

You can get Captain help by asking the locals around the ramp at Marina San Carlos. They have invaluable information regarding, type of fish, where to fish, what bait to use and where the hazards are.

It is very important to know where the underwater hazards are. Boats have been lost in the area by uninformed or stupid boaters. Renting a local captain a few times is money well spent.
