Chase and I were down with a few friends for 4 days last week.  Our first day we put 7 nice YT's in the box, the smallest was just under 18 lbs.  The next day was nada nada.  Steve's boat took 4 nice ones jigging on a real quick bite around 10:30ish.  The fish seem to be there but the bite was very erratic.  Great to see everyone down there.  Have a Merry Christmas!

Mike,

I have not heard from anyone fishing the last few days - word is wind has been BAD and correspondingly crappy water. Fernando said he could not even go to cast from shore yesterday...

Maybe a report today as it looks fishable in close for the morning. I'm unsure as to whether I was windsurfing by squid or boiling yellowtail the other day. Hopefully they're making a stand in close, as the water can't get any colder.

Well I'm coming to S.C. either way the wind blows. I hope the weather sits down so I can get my fish on. It looks ok on virtual buoy but who knows. Ive seen better weather reports but I have the itch and this is the only time I have to go!!!!  Maybe someone went out today and has some good news.  Happy Holidays and thanks  Mike

Had hopeful hopes this moring. The birds had squid on the outside and nothing but bait readings on the inside. I would head to the island instead of San Antonio tomorrow. I don't believe that winter buoy reports accurately portray your weather to the island in the morning.  Just expect to assign a driver to point you into the swell and surf your way home afterwards. The fish should be biting at some point during the morning. Just don't expect a bluebird glass calm day this week. Who knows if the bite will be hot? If you're going to bottomfish, don't waste you time, and hit the reef.

Feliz Navidad and Prospero Ano,

Bryan

Hola.  Went out today it was very windy.  Didn't get out until 10 am or so by then the wind had already picked up 3-5 foot swells.  Didn't go to the Island becaue of the wind.  Did try trolling off of Antonio point but had no luck.  Saw lots of birds none of them really diving.  I'm going to try to get out early tomorrow and fish the north end of the Island.  Hired captain Joel to captain for me tomorrow so that I can fish while he drives.  Going to try some jigging and bottom fishing off of the reef.  I'll let you know what happens.  Going to Froggy's for dinner.  Mike

Glad to see some people getting some yellows. Went out early on Friday and got blown off water buy about noon. Wind came up earlier on Friday than Thursday. Both days really windy with UGLY seas. Got some hits at the reef bottom fishing on cut squid and sardina. Broke off a few large fish but couldnt get them in the boat. Fishing in 350 feet of water 5-6 miles out.Its a lot of work fishing that deep in big seas. Decided to cut my losses and head home early. Looks like I should have fished today, sounds like the winds settled down a little. Isnt that the way it always goes!! Hope you guys can get some clean water and get some fish. I still had a great time and am already planning my next trip in a few months. I love S.C.   Happy New Year!!  Mike:cool:          Hey Craig, let us know how you did !!

I fished today with Adam, Jesus Craig and Steve

We did good at the Island today aboard "TELAMON"...we boated 5 nice fish, lost 3 more. Our biggest fished weighted 24.5 lbs on the scale, thge other 4 fish were all about 12-15 lbs

We were soaking wet, frezzing, but with a big smile on our face :D

Rubina caught 2 and lost 2

Pez Vela caught 3...one of them over 30lbs...nice big fat YT.

Thx Adam and Jesus for a fun trip on "Telamon"
