Global warming does not mean that it will be warmer period. It is a disruption of global weather patterns with a net result of overall warming patterns and it IS happening.

Its happening and something else will happen at a later date on earth. I remember the fear that existed among scientists that the ice age was upon us in the 70s. We all can do our part to keep the oceans and atmosphere clean but 400 leading scientists have me convinced that the natural occurrences on earth have far greater effect than man ever will. Unless of course theres a massive nuclear war but then who the heck will really care. Im sick of the guilt spewed upon us every day in the media. When my best friend comes back from China month after month and shares the horrors of coal fired plants growing like weeds and the unregulated toxins spewing about, I guess I feel a little bit relieved that we are not really the bad guys. And I dont want to hear that its our fault because we buy from China. Next it will be my fault for that and they'll tax me for enviro clean up on goods from China and everywhere else. Heck lets just put a 100 percent tax on everything made to buy carbon credits from AlGore. Just tax us back to the stone ages. As an enviro engineer my buddy has me sold(evidence included) that the earth is warming and has been for many years but he also has the IQ to know that the derivative and net impact that man has over mother nature herself is less tan 1.5 percent. Every little bit counts I'll concede, but Craigs fountain is not freezing because of some massive storm pattern in Rio Rico caused by massive climate change due to my 12 mile a gallon 700 hp machine. Its always colder in rio rico!!!! I wish I had the link that was just sent to me about the massive tax regulation to dispose of human waste down the toilet yet all the livestock waste in the U.S. far exceeds that spewed by humans and has absolutely zero regulation thus having an untold impact on our enviroment. Certainly an impact several times that we humans stir up on a given day. I need to buy a farm and vtoe democrat, and retire in SC. Craig I should have called when was hanging out down there until today but I had my hands full with the ninos. Disclaimer, I did buy Volvos newest diesel that meets clean air diesel requirements in Ca for 2020. Go figure. At least Im not As big of Hypo as AlGore and all my new homes include enough neat green trinkets minimizing utility costs and enviromental impact, but thats profit driven market genius....Great fishing to all and to all a good night.

Ya What Jarrod said !, and this 1995 Charles Heston

HESTON: You think man can destroy the planet? What intoxicating vanity. Let me tell you about our planet. Earth is four-and-a-half-billion-years-old. There's been life on it for nearly that long, 3.8 billion years. Bacteria first; later the first multicellular life, then the first complex creatures in the sea, on the land. Then finally the great sweeping ages of animals, the amphibians, the dinosaurs, at last the mammals, each one enduring millions on millions of years, great dynasties of creatures rising, flourishing, dying away -- all this against a background of continuous and violent upheaval. Mountain ranges thrust up, eroded away, cometary impacts, volcano eruptions, oceans rising and falling, whole continents moving, an endless, constant, violent change, colliding, buckling to make mountains over millions of years. Earth has survived everything in its time.

It will certainly survive us. If all the nuclear weapons in the world went off at once and all the plants, all the animals died and the earth was sizzling hot for a hundred thousand years, life would survive, somewhere: under the soil, frozen in arctic ice. Sooner or later, when the planet was no longer inhospitable, life would spread again. The evolutionary process would begin again. Might take a few billion years for life to regain its present variety. Of course, it would be very different from what it is now, but the earth would survive our folly, only we would not. If the ozone layer gets thinner, ultraviolet radiation sears earth, so what? Ultraviolet radiation is good for life. It's powerful energy. It promotes mutation, change. Many forms of life will thrive with more UV radiation. Many others will die out. You think this is the first time that's happened? Think about oxygen. Necessary for life now, but oxygen is actually a metabolic poison, a corrosive glass, like fluorine.

When oxygen was first produced as a waste product by certain plant cells some three billion years ago, it created a crisis for all other life on earth. Those plants were polluting the environment, exhaling a lethal gas. Earth eventually had an atmosphere incompatible with life. Nevertheless, life on earth took care of itself. In the thinking of the human being a hundred years is a long time. Hundred years ago we didn't have cars, airplanes, computers or vaccines. It was a whole different world, but to the earth, a hundred years is nothing. A million years is nothing. This planet lives and breathes on a much vaster scale. We can't imagine its slow and powerful rhythms, and we haven't got the humility to try. We've been residents here for the blink of an eye. If we're gone tomorrow, the earth will not miss us.

What is undeniable is that man industrial age has sped up the process. This is the view of every peer reviewed scientific report and yes of course there are scientist that are in the hip pocket of the energy corps that will so this is not so.

So do not want to get into a heavy discourse about this but fact is fact. Man has effected the climate. And no the earth will not be destroyed but it will have major effects on weather systems...global warming is real, it is here and we as man have contributed to abnormally high temps and its results on the earth.

I always get a kick out of undeniable truths.  During the 17th Century it was undeniable that the world was flat.   Monty Python undeniably proclaimed that a duck is heavier than a witch.

Mankind has an egotistical swagger.  We have a way of defining the unknown with undeniable explanations.  Is this issue anything more than politically charged rhetoric.  All the hysteria is based on what 100 years of scientifically recorded data?  Have we forgotten what a 100 years looks like on a geologic scale.

If you are an environmentalist and want to feel guilty or an industrialist and ignore scientific investigations; history has a way making us all look foolish.  I will see your 100 years and raise you 10,000.

What does this have to do with fishing anyway?
