Just wondered about several small boats apparently fishing just off the beach in front of Bahia Delfin tonight around 10:30PM.  Some were going back and forth fairly fast while others were just sitting, all within 100 yards from shore. We couldn't tell if they were using nets, setting traps or fishing with rod/reel or what, but were just curious. The boat doing long circles stopped and the men standing looked like they were pulling in nets or lines by hand.

After kayaking this morning in the same area with the dolphins we just want to make sure our favorite friends are safe.  Probably legal but would like imput from the pros on this board. Thanks!

Not having seen it, I can't say for sure. But what you described is typical when I've seen them netting corvina in Rocky Point.

typically they are setting nets...the pangeros wouldn't know how to use a rod and reel. If you want to get sick, go watch what they haul in with the nets the next morning. Two weeks ago I watched 100s of immature roosterfish (about 6"-8") get thrown into the fish bucket.
