For sure those American made jobs are expensive.. I can't understand why anyone in SC would recommend them with so many new pangas being built and used ones available in Guaymas and Empalme! I guess some people have plenty of $$$'s to burn.

Can anyone make a guess on how many pangas there are in the area?

You can get a good deal on a Local built new or used panga. Lots & Lots & Lots of them are for sale in Guaymas and Empalme. Ask the local boys around the ramp at marina san carlos, some of them will certainly know where to start shopping, You might talk to Hyram who works at Barracuda Bob's, he is a good decent kid with a small sailboat charter business on the side, and he speaks English. He would know.

On the other side of Guaymas bay I have seen several being built. They are made of a Styrofoam core sandwiched with fiberglass and epoxy. Those don't sink. A good motor will most likely be the biggest expense. $5,000 to 10,000 will get you into a descent rig, maybe less but not more, if you do your shopping.

The boat is located just south of Tucson, in Sonoita. I have more pictures if you want them.

I would consider it if you paid full price. I have a standing offer from my neighbor for $3800 cash.
