Fishing in general was good with lots of Bonita and some Sierra, also some snappers, calicos and of course white fish.... With windy and cloudy conditions unable to see any hopes of warm water for the Dorado and Marlin...Last we heard of was Boondoggler with 4 nice Dorado on the 27th....Nothing since, then heard of some nice Yellowtail taken at the island and some small ones at San Antionio pt....
Panga fisherman taking a lot of Yellows at the island with there squid bait...for those who haven´t seen these guys they are good fisherman with those handlines...and for those who haven´t tried its a whole different type of fishing....that is one type of fishing I can condone..unlike the longliners....
UNTIL NEXT WEEK TIGHT LINES JON AND JEN

Craig, Pepe and My self tried San Antonio this afternoon and saw a lots of yt boiling...we couldn't get close enough...but it was a lot of fun trying...everytime we would get at casting distance they would go down and then pop up in another spot...
After about 3 hours we finally picked up one about 10 to 12 lbs yellowtail on a megabait kudako jigs...it was a fun afternoon fishing trip

Was in the water at South Point, San Pedro, on the 27th.
Saw several breezing Yellowtail, but none close enough to shoot, mainly due to a pack of Sea Lions that would not leave me alone. Had more chance of a flying pig coming close to me with those guys around me.
However, the fish are there in numbers.

Heard 8-10 big shrimp and sardine boats set nets right at S.A. and went north yesterday evening....two days ago bonita everywhere today notta notta...gee I wonder what happen....probally my imagination...
Looks like we are in for a little blow then back to some hopefully normal weather pattern...nice morning and a little wind in the afternoon....

Jon,
The IronBoy did get me; seasonal score is now 0 - 1 .
I first notice trawlers anchored in the bay when I arrived Friday, obviously (?) ducking the incoming storm. When we went to San Antonio yesterday there were about a dozen of them traveling past or around San Antonio, and we saw another six of them still at anchor off of Deer Island and near the entrance to Marina Real. I never did see even one of them drop the dredges or nets, but they were out in bigger numbers than I have seen in the past. If they DO start fishing right on San Antonio, someone needs to report the activity to Conapesca (Vince can probably help?) before they strip the area clean. I still don't know if they were just taking refuge from the big wind or not, but there are a BUNCH of them in the area.
'Till we meet again, BOY!!!
