I will be down in 2 weeks and just wanted to know where to fish, and what to use for Sierra.  Thanks

If in 2 weeks it is anything like it has been this week, you can probably troll a spark plug with a hook and fill your box with both Sierra and Bonita (a better fighting fish). However, the most successful lures are probably mid-size (about 5-6 inches) Yozuris(deep diving Crystal Minnow for example) or Rapala Fat Raps or Shad Raps or anything of that nature. Blue mackerel colors or black and white sardine colors seem to work just fine. Be sure to use either a wire leader or at least 80 pound fluorocarbon leader.

I think that most people are fishing San Antonio, though they may be in other places in good numbers too. I have gotten by with 60# fluorocarbon. Tie an Albright know and avoid the swivel bite offs.

Here's our ceviche recipe. Cook the fish an hour or more in lime juice, stirring a couple of times.

Pico de Gallo ( tomatoes, peppers, onions ), cilantro, green olives, garlic, herbs, salt, pepper, catsup, chipoltles abogado, and olive oil.

There can be some big sierra caught in the area. I'm a SC Rookie compared to these guys but I think some them are seeing me earn my stripes.

I've found trolling around 75' to 150' of water from marina to marina has worked very well for me. Off the point too. Try a chrome 3.5 - 4 inch krocodile or blue mac colored rapala type lures. My favorite is from bass pro shop and is a 5" jointed blue mac lazer eye series. The same lure in google eye has been great for cabrilla. Good luck with sardine and green mac too for various. Follow everyone advice on leaders too. I use a 30# 12-18 inch black wire leader.
