| Thanks Steve. Lots of fun dodging all the boats in my 16 footer. Got one 20 lb. bull dorado at 17 miles. Great fun and congrats to all.

We got two tuna and 2 dorado. One 25 bull and a small female. Is there a limit on tuna of two per fisherman or is that just for bilfish and dorado?

I think orderly chaos would best describe yesterday’s fishing. What great fun. Sorry you didn’t bloody your deck yesterday Steve. We managed two of the tasty critters. We tried to get close enough to Alaska Bill’s spread to gaff one of his lucky lures and borrow it for a little while. I am sure he would have appreciated the humor.

I'd love to have a picture of Acudoc's face in a 16' tin boat in the middle of the fleet playing "Run-n-Gun" on the spot of tuna!!! The first time I was there in my 23 footer, it was so rough we took one wake that put a foot of water over the cabin! Lost two cell phones and a digital camera that got flooded. I think next time, I will circle out 1/4 mile, come in at full throttle in front of the lead boat, and then drop back the cedar plugs!!!!

I've fished the SoC long enough to pick and choose my days. It was great the last couple days, especially yesterday it was glass.
There was one guy though, and I won't mention the boat but he didn't seem to have a clue. Either that or he just didn't care. It didn't matter where the fish were or what the other boats were doing he was in a world of his own. There were at least a half a dozen times he just cut me off. I know I've got a small boat, in fact the smallest there yesterday, but I'm not invisible. He just cut right in front of me. Finally I just threw up my arms and yelled "how many time are you going to do this". He had no clue. Enough of my rant.
Really was great fun. I caught mine on a blue and silver plastic skirt. I heard they were hitting anything blue and white the day before. Cedars are always the tuna "ticket".
Headed back to the states Wednesday. Thanks to everyone for all the great advice...great fishing to you all!!!

Craig- Sea's yesterday were 4-5 (Inches) all day, It was funny to see Acu-Doc out there in his 16 foot Tin boat..keep in mind we were 24 miles off shore...should of seen him go when a boil of big tuna surfaced, I had no Idea anyone could row that fast , He even had that boat on on plain a few times.

AcuDoc must either have some serious stones or a card short of a full deck. He was living on borrowed time yesterday. I got to admit though that he was not afraid to jump into the middle of the action.

Regarding the cedar plugs..I am used to using them with a wire leader to the needle eyed hooks..last time in SC I noticed they were rigged with mono. Anyone have a problem with the mono cutting rigged like that? How often do you re rig when using mono?
Is the "hot one" plain cedar or are you using some colors?
Thanks,
fishing nut
