Hey all, Great tournament! Got to see some but never enough.  10/3 and 10/9 were travel days.  10/4 got 2 Pomps and one Sierra in the am fishing off the embarcadero @ Marina Real.  2 more Sierras off the rocks.  PM got 4 more Pompano (same place) after snorkeling off the island by the old Club Med.

10/5 - 3 peanut Dorado in the am and one sick shipmate:(.  Went back out and site fished for Dorado with light tackle on a spincast using a 1 oz jig w/white hair - Great Fun:D.  Kept a few for dinner - YUM:)

10/6 - 210 @ 10-12 miles(Thanks Jonjen) started seeing sails in the spread!  Was letting out a Ballyhoo, at 15-25 yards got slammed, good dance up close and a slack line:((my students didn't pay attention during knot tying class:X) - Just at loss, another strike and good fight for a bit - took over as Captain and manuevered the boat so we could get the fish in.  Great dancing!  got it in close and another jump, spit the hook and eased off.  1st time seeing a sail up close!

10/7 Snorkeling Martini Cove and surrounding area - Lots to see and good fun:)

10/8 - We took one of the wives out and saw fish and birds everywhere!  Cedar plug out and let the fun begin - Bonito like crazy:D - fightin lil buggers!  One weighed in at 9 lbs ( the only one weighed ) - couple of good photos but not available yet.

10/9 - 10 Sierras in the am and one bit finger then had to pack and leave:(

Update - Did a little research and found out that there are several types of Bonito in Mexican waters.  What we were catching was the Black Skipjack (Euthynnus lineatus).

The Mexican Bonito (Sarda orientalis) has a slight varuiation in pattern as does the White Skipjack (Kalsuwonus pelamis).
