Mohalo to all that ran the tournament and sponsored the event! Definitely the best tournament of the year - my first Cantina Cup. I think if the weather was better the numbers would have been up.
And thank you to the Don's for your advice on where to go. We found a good concentration of sails the first day just outside the bay but I think they were full and you couldn't have a bait in the water for more than five minutes without a small dorado hitting. The next day straight outside and beyond the reef we found five packs of marlin and another dozen dorado and billfish strikes. I think we luckily crossed our share, but as we found last Sunday, the fish are congregating. This should be a month not to miss!

The Don's told me where to go Sunday as well. Actually they were the ones who told me where to go for the 60th International Tourney in July when we came in 2nd but got DQ'd for paper work.
I would suggest that everyone subscribe to thier newsletter on how and where to fish San Carlos it is awsome. Well worth the cost.
They are always right on when they tell you where to fish.

WOW! TEAM OCEAN DANCER....Cinderella Story! Gotta thank all those involved for putting on such a great tournament, and especially the Tournament Director (really appreciate you horsing in the 4 marlin....you rod hog). No really, it was luck of the reel. I also need to thank our Capitan Ramon for putting us on the fish....even though it was further than I felt like getting my tail kicked to get to (41 miles on Saturday). I never knew a little pilot house would be such a great boat in big seas....go Ocean Dancer!
This tourney brings out the best in San Carlos and the fishing community, and it was fantastic to be a part of it. Oh yeah, and winning doesn't suck much either.
Thanks again to all and I can't wait to defend the title....and perhaps represent SC in Cabo at the World Championships.
Brandon Blair

Kudos to the Don's. I also subcribe to their newsletters and have had the opportunity to actually fish with them a few times as well. They know the waters of San Carlos and where to find the fish like nobody I ever seen. Norman put me on my first Marlin ten years ago and I have been an avid follower since. Their years of fishing the great barrier reef and madeira certainly has added to their knowledge of our waters in the SC. Congrats to everyone on a great tournament!!

They are the Godfathers of fishing in San Carlos.
They have a news letter called "Catch 411"
If they reach out to you.... you have to be willing to be of service to the Don's.

Thanks Steve for the congrats, sponsorship and fun time down south. It's a little early for pre-registration but I appreciate the enthusiasm.
This past weekend was a blast! And thanks to all the rest of you on this forum. I've learned so much over the years here, and know many others who have too. We're a good group of fisherman.
It sounds like I need to invest some of our winning money to the Don's newsletter. Can anyone send their contact info my way?
Happy Fishing! MB

I know, just received mine too. Really glad I'm now part of the "in crowd." I can't believe there are fish in that area. MB
