I Don't want to interfere with the tournament fishermen but want to fish. Any suggestions as where to go to stay out of the way? I will mostly be fishing for Dorado and Tuna. Would love some fresh sashimi . Also, what are the chances of chartering a boat? The tournament is what, 3days? 5th,6th,&7th??? I guess I picked a helluva time to visit S.C. for the first time!

Hi Von Dog,
The tournament will be fishing Saturday and Sunday only. There's plenty of room on the water for all of us. It's a great time to be in San Carlos and the fishing is typically fantastic this time of year. Adios. Matt

Actually you picked the best time possible. The fishing is great the weather is fabulous. Speaking from personel experience. I 1st launched my boat "Lucky Ducks" two years ago this exact weekend it was the Saturday of the tournament and was welcomed with open arms by a community of fisherman and boat lovers that you will not find anywhere else. A real mixed bag of nuts. I have since made SC my 2nd home. My address is M dock. Which in my humble opinion is the only dock in Marina San Carlos. If you want to meet some people go to the weigh in each day by the Marina Cantina.
Welcome to paradise.

| What a great fishing tournament. Also the last day - so well organized. Nice to have tables, margaritas, beer and tents for the spectators. Kudos to the fisherpeople, Grant and Heidi and Paulino's food for a very nice event. I think most of the residents of San Carlos attended this gathering.
