After days of watching the pelicans crash the same spot I decided to wade out. "I'll be back in ten minutes." - ya right. Fish every cast. No corvina or sierras, but nice jacks, snapper, cabrilla, ladyfish, and more. Hopefully the Toros will be in soon. The bay really lights up late in the season.
Hit the point on the town side off of Villa Hermosa and wade out. I've seen them all morning and afternoons out there. Follow the path along the wash that runs just down from the turn in the road at the Country Club. Once you scare the pelicans off, the rain bait will come to the surface and then the boils will begin.
Prepare to have to swim after a few. As you tread water you can usually stick your rod down to free your lure or fish. You'll have to wade a bit. Brace yourself against the waves and surge or join the fish.
Just some info. for those who can't wait for covert corvina operations to begin.
PM if you want to rent a kayak. I can bring them down to the beach there for you.

What time are you doing this ?
Would be interested. Think kayaks would be the way to go. Info and let us know prices - bait, or just a pole with ???
Thanks

Bryan,
Took Bart's advice and went to your web page - looks great! I just might have to try the kayak thing; now that I have spent 3 years combing the waters around San Carlos in my boat, I am sure there are no Great Whites waiting to eat me....
I'll get in touch about a rental when the first "yellowtail at San Antonio" rumors pop up!

And miss all the other warmer inshore species? Had a nice four pound grouper today. After releasing a dozen fish, the mexican workers sent out a guy who stripped his jeans off and came out with a bucket.
I've seen the birds out there all morning and afternoon until a bit after sunset. Once again the birds left and they started boiling. The surge was down a bit but bring some shoes. Bring a bag for some ladyfish to use as ballyhoo. Caught one sierra today.
You can cast from shore to the fish. My new favorite is the 2 5/8" sinking tiger striped Yozuri Crystal Minnow. Anything shiny will work. Wish Cabellas would return my fly rods!
