But who won the BIG fish Steve ..... I'd like to see a photo of that black!
We had one over 300# do some circles in the spread before sawing through the leader. The guys the day before caught a two hundred and three hundred pound fish, along with a big sail. We a couple other good marlin and had a two out of three on sails with another three hitting the lures on Saturday. Three bulls and a sail up to the transom on Sunday. I guess that Harvester wasn't invited. I thought that something looked fishy Saturday. Lots of big fish around!
adios,
Bryan

What an adventure we all had Saturday and Sunday. We (777) also fished Friday, just Pilo and I and caught billfish and a doado if I recall. Sunday was absolutlely the most exciting day I ever had (weather wise) on the water. We attempted to thread the needle on two thunderheads, and as we were about dead center of the two clouds, they decided to collide. As lightning shot off and Pilo was up in the tower, I said to Stev, "He's gonna look like one of those little fuzzy Star Wars characters getting blown off the tree by a laser gun, with the unmistakable Hollywood ooooohhhhhhh as he gets hit by lightning. At about the same time I said that he came down the steps in a hurry. As we neared the cloud formation we saw awesome water spouts developing. Predator's Morgan North reported a massive water spout ripping up the surface of the water in tornado fashion. He said it was the most incredible sight! We were now trolling in the biggest rain storm I had ever seen on the water and Pilo said, "rain is good, it brings fish up." Steve and I looked at him with the same "Im not going out there look! Well a couple of sails came in hot, and we luckily hooked one up after debating who was going out there to reel it in. Steve delegated the task to me. It was so worth it. It took a bit because she was a very heavy sail on 30 pound. As I was reeling the sail in, there was a moment when the wicked winds broke and it went silent and the rumble of the diesels could be heard again. I looked to starboard, then port and saw the same whipped seas and pouring rain. My Costa Del Mars took on a 3D effect. You could see no further than 200 feet. It was awesome! We cut the line at the circle hook at about the time the whirlwind storm settled down. We did not bring the camera so I only have the story, but if you were there you'd of experienced mother nature at her very best.
PS The black Steve was on was lit up like the White House Christmas tree when she came to the boat. She had hot blue stripes as big as hash marks, and thank God it took a seccond to get it's breath as I released it. She had a bill as big as a Louisville Slugger. Awesome! If that black had weighed a pound more I think Steve would have needed the O2. -Jarrod

What a fantastic fishing weekend. We fished Friday and Saturday on the Kryptonite. Our weekend numbers were 5 Marlin, 1 sailfish and 2 Dorado. On Saturday, we trolled right over the top of a large gathering of Marlin because we had 5 in the spread and a quadruple hook-up, all Stripers. We only got to release one though after the dust and excitement settled. I also hope that was an indication of what we can expect for the Cantina Cup. Watching Big Steve on the 777 fight that bruiser Black Marlin was exciting. We circled his boat several times and cheered him on. I understand Steve caught that Marlin on a circle hook.
Our Captain, Danny Grajeda, Jr took a beating while releasing one of our Marlin. The fish turned his right bicep into hamburger in short order. Sorry we missed all the fun and weather on Sunday. We sure enjoyed spending everyone’s money on Saturday night!

By the way, congrats on the 350-lb Blue Steve!
