| acudoc, you said you're a rookie at san carlos fishing. You can expect dorado 25-35 mi out. If your range is 12 mi you are not going to catch many dorado. I rarely drop my lines until I'm 22 mi out. Tuna, when they're in, around 20+ mi. You can however get a sail or marlin within your 12 mi range. Good luck.

I've heard that the dorado are out further and at times on very smooth I may head out. I have heard also at some point they come closer in. I'll just have to hope for the best and wait for the warmer water to get closer i.
Thanks for your input.
PS It is one thing that Baja has over SC, the fish are very clsoe.
