| Has anyone fished in rocky point lately. I was thinking of going down there this weekend. How is the wind been down there?

You pay your money, you take your chances with the wind in Rocky Point. It's been a very windy year and I've been blown out on several trips, last one in Oct.
I'm heading there this weekend. Will fish on Saturday launching out of the main harbor about 7:30. Look for the big white Prokat.
Check the Buoyweather for your best indication of the weather. Here's the link:

(seems down at the moment, but is a good link)

When launching at Pompano ramp, be aware of the BIG rock....

I'm intimately familiar with the BIG rock. You only know it's there at low tide. In my old boat, the rock was never a problem. I've gone right over it hundreds of time, but then again, my Bayrunner drafted next to nothing. It was like a floating cork. I knew the rock was there, just never paid any attention to it because it wasn't a problem for me.
First time out in the ProKat, I idled right on top of that big rock and got stuck. 450 horses couldn't pull me off. Two pangas came over and helped pull me free. No major damage, thank goodness, just some scratches in the gel coat on one of the sponsons.
Talk about embarassing! Ever since then, it's back straight out in reverse into the middle of the channel, THEN head out of the harbor!
I'm surprised they haven't blasted it apart because it is truly a hazard to navigation. But hey, it's Mexico. They don't mark or worry about the hazards like we do here in the U.S.
Kind of like the reef on your right coming out of the harbor in San Carlos. If you're a regular there, you know about it and cut left around it as you come out. It is (or was) marked with a rusty metal pole last time I went by it. But if you're a newbie, it would be easy enough to smack right into it.
