Several times I have tried to get a radio check on channel 68 and then 16 and no one responds.   I have a radio in the boat and a hand held vhf radio and there is no question I am transmitting and receiving---between them.  Why is no one responding did I say something wrong.  Seriously it is disconcerting not to know whether anyone is receiving me---I hope I don't need assistance but it would be nice to know if there is anyone out there who hears my call.

There is usually pretty good chatter on the radio, especially in the mornings.  I'm sure either marina would respond to your hail.  Also, try channel 69, or scan if you can.

It sounds like you may have an antenna problem on your boat.

I'm sending you a PM with my contact info.  I'll be in San Carlos tomorrow afternoon and am happy to help you with a radio check from my boat in Marina Real.  I can send/receive to the other marina from there.

Hey! thanks alot.  I was talking to someone else and he suggested that it could very well be the antennae.  I am going to look it over tomorrow---if I can't figure out what's wrong with it do you know anyone that works on them down here.
