Just and update I called at outfit at http://www.mexpro.net/ they have a liability policy of $100,000 per acc. 50,000/100,000 Bod. inj. per person per accident and bail bond-legal $20,000. for $175.00 annual premium. The Mexican Comp is ACE Seguros, SA. They sell it over the inter-net and email the policy. Based on the luck I am having trying to find anyone to respond I am going to go ahead with it. Now, if it is only legit.

That is the same carrier we offer via the web site and at the same price.

| Bart, I am sorry I must of missed that---I have already committed to the other company. I was getting a little concerned that I might not be able to get coverage. I will try to go through your company next time.

I've got a 03, 30' Proline with twin 225 Yamaha, outriggers and electronics etc. In dry storage on the trailer in SC.
My policy is on the boat in SC, right now, so can't check specifics. But know I have value of the boat covered, liability (Not sure exactly how much, but not excessive that I recall), plus personal injury to party's on the boat and coverage for electronics etc.
I'm paying about $1,200 a year. Most of what I'm hearing is that you'll paying substantially less.
Without checking all the companies suggested.
Does it sound like I'm being ripped off?
Thanks!

Hambone gave me a quote for almost the exact same amount for a similar boat with similar coverage.

| Just got my quote from MG. 25' 96' Trophy2509 (27'LOA)) with twin 115s. They want $1200 for the year and would need to get a dry survey done too. So, it seems we may need to reconsider the need for full coverage.

Acwaman
Think you are about spot on at $1200-mine is smaller and 13 years older than yours.

Thanks guys, reassuring that I'm not.
Got it through Hambone, didn't mention them as I don't want to drag any name through the mud even if I was being ripped, especially as I didn't have all the facts of my coverage.
Already, almost started a rumour that Marina Seca was unsafe, which turned out to be my stupidity.
Regards

I can't remember exactly what that policy would cost you in 2005, but I'm pretty sure it was close to the $700 range with medical and all that. Prices have definetly gone up.

| $1200 is pretty much spot on what I pay for my '02 ProKat on a yearly basis. You're not getting ripped.

But it sounds like you and Bart also get US coverage for that rate.
I never thought about it before, but does Hambone's underwriter cover use in the US.

| I had to look at the policy-mine is defined as coastal and navigable waters in the Pacific from 22 s Lat to Pt Conception, CA. Since the boat stays in Mexico and is not used in the US, that is what I asked for. My old Hambone's Mexican insurer coverage only covered use in Mexican waters.

Do your own research, but I have used this company.
http://www.mexadventure.com
"Mexico has some of the best sportfishing in the world. If you own your own boat, you will definitely want to consider towing your boat into Mexico. (Make sure to read about Mexican boat and fishing permits). We provide auto insurance coverage which covers boats while being towed by your vehicle. We also provide boat liability insurance and Hull coverage for boats and jetskis while in the water (contact us for details).
Insuring your pleasure boat in Mexico can be a complicated and somewhat confusing process, but Adventure Mexican Insurance Services offers a number of different Boat Insurance products to fit your needs."
