Are robalo, a type of snook, found in the waters off of San Carlos?  I had some robalo in a taco de pescado in Baja a couple of months ago.  It is an excellent tasting fish.  Does it have a local Spanish name?

Thanks

Robalo is the Spanish name for snook. Never caught one in San Carlos. Have caught them in Mazatlan, though. They used to catch them over in the river at Mulege, but haven't heard of one caught in years.

I agree... very yummy!
