We've been noticing that while the Route 15 signs have not been removed on the main highway from Nogales to Guaymas, there are new signs showing up as "Ruta 2010". Does anyone have an explanation as to what is happening?
In 2010, Mexico will celebrate its 200th anniversary of its Independence and 100th anniversary of its Revolution.
As part of the commemoration various routes have been mapped out to allow retracing of military campaigns (6 routes), the Independence movement (3 routes) and the Mexican Revolution (3 routes).
One of the routes passes through Sonora ... going from Nogales to Mexico City.
