I am new to San Carlos, where is "Blackie's" and do we need reservations? Just purchased a condo at Marina Real.

That's true - everyone is new at some time.

Blackies, Jax' Snaks, Charlie's (sp?) Rock, and the 'circle' are normally the first 'learned' landmarks.

If you are a diver, then add Gary's and DelMar Dive shops.

Blackie's is fine dining - very, very nice.

Jax' Snaks has best shakes and 'fast food', both American & Mexican.

Hmmm   I forget where the best Margharitas  are . . .

From your e-mail I assume you may be a diver? Just a guess. I'm a golfer so hopefully I'll find a group that enjoys golf. Like to fish but have only fished freash water, northern states and Canada. When the guys at Marina Real saw my equipmemt they had a good laugh since as compared to their "tackle", mine looked like kids toys. O well, guess that part of the fun of moving and meeting new people. Have lots of stuff to learn, phone service, TV choices, DSL availableity, etc., looking forward to all of it. Thanks for all you information, be happy to "pop" for a few margharitas when I get there. Plan on arriving about 11/12/09 or so.

Most of the restaurants in town and the hotels do a Thanksgiving dinner or buffet. If you have friends in town, I am sure if you bring a turkey down they would cook it. Although turkey is a national bird, they are quite expensive compared to the USA

Debbie & larry will be doing their Thanksgiving buffet at their house in Villas California. Give Debbie a call to make a reservation. Also she will be doing her pies, so if you need a pie for your dinner call her  to order yours.
